About Us

This school has been working as a mode one, gaining achievement one after another all these years. There is a team of dedicated teachers and other staff. It is equipped with the necessary infrastructure. We have retained good achievements at curricular, extracurricular and vocational levels.

Infrastructure:

Currently the Charitable society holds a land of 60 cents area in Sankaramangalam, Chavara. A building with an area of 850 sq. ft. is under construction. With all these limitations in resources and infrastructure we are running the institution in a full-fledged manner, in rented buildings with; sufficient space and convenience.
The institution is equipped with all modern facilities for academic, physical and vocational training of mentally handicapped children; highly well- qualified experienced and skilled faculty imparts the highest levels of training and care.
Our training equipment’s include band music instruments, IQ measures, tailoring machines, candle mound, library books, gym equipment’s, sports, athletics and other teaching aids.

Karuna special school has three school buses that operate in full swing to facilitate the transportation needs of the students. The non- existence of the boarding facility and the related difficulties are dealt with, to a certain limit with this limited transportation facility.

Activities:

The students are imparted training in various vocations in addition to academic matter. Behavioral changes are brought over them special attention is given to develop their ability in sports, games and other co-curricular activities.

Faculty :

We have a well-trained qualified faculty. We have Teaching staff with special B.Ed., DSc (MR), DCBR, DVR (MR), Bridge course, physiotherapy and speech.

	This institution was started in 1995 as a humble step for the development of differently abled children. It was, at first for a group of 5 children including the daughter of the present Director and 4 other children of the neighbouring area.
